iPhone 15 vs iPhone 14: which pre-owned model to choose in 2026?

10 April 2026

Think upgrading to the iPhone 15 is a must? Not so sure. After testing both models at Relab and talking with hundreds of customers, I can honestly tell you: a pre-owned iPhone 14 is still an excellent choice in 2026.

The real differences that matter

Camera: iPhone 15 wins, but only just

The iPhone 15 has a new 48MP main sensor and better video stabilization. The verdict? It's mostly visible in video and in very low light. For everyday photos (your kids, your vacations), the iPhone 14 takes absolutely gorgeous pictures. If you don't shoot professional video, you won't see the difference.

A17 Pro processor vs A15 Bionic

The iPhone 15 has the A17 Pro chip, slightly faster. But honestly? Your iPhone 14 will open apps just as fast. That difference matters for very demanding games, not for daily use.

USB-C: the real revolution

This is the main change. The iPhone 15 moves to USB-C (finally!), while the iPhone 14 stays on Lightning. What does that mean? Fewer cables at home if you already have USB-C devices. But it's really not revolutionary.

The screen? Identical

Same gorgeous OLED display. Same resolution. Same colors. Zero difference.

The financial side: where the iPhone 14 really shines

Here's what we like at Relab: a pre-owned Grade A iPhone 14 costs 40-50% less than a new iPhone 15. For exactly the same everyday performance.

  • Pre-owned Grade A iPhone 14: ~4,500 DH
  • New iPhone 15: ~8,000-9,000 DH
  • Difference: 4,500 DH more for 5% more performance

Frankly? It's not worth it. You can put that money toward a brand-new battery that will last you 3 years, or invest in genuinely useful accessories.

Who should buy the iPhone 15?

  • You shoot a lot of video (TikTok, YouTube, professional content)
  • You already have USB-C accessories and want to standardize
  • You change phones every year and have the budget

Who should buy the iPhone 14?

  • You take normal photos/videos for social media
  • You want to maximize your budget and keep money for something else
  • You're looking for the best value in premium pre-owned
  • You change phones every 3-4 years and want the perfect device

Our honest recommendation

If you have 4,500-5,500 DH to invest, get a pre-owned Grade A iPhone 14 from Relab. You'll have a nearly new device with a 1-year warranty, and you'll save enough to buy an iPhone 16 in 2 years with no guilt.

Both are excellent. The iPhone 14 is just smarter financially.
