Every year, the same question: Pro or Pro Max? Pre-owned, the price gap is 1,500 to 2,500 DH depending on the model. Here's a cold, clear analysis so you can decide without getting it wrong.
The real differences between Pro and Pro Max
The screen: 6.1" vs 6.7"
This is the most visible difference. The Pro Max is bigger — no doubt about it. But is it better?
It's for you if: You watch a lot of videos, read books, work on documents. The bigger screen is a real advantage.
It's against you if: You have small hands, you keep your phone in a jeans pocket, you use it with one hand. The Pro Max is hard to use one-handed.
Optical zoom (for the 15 Pro Max specifically)
This is the major difference between the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the 15 Pro: 5x optical zoom vs 3x. It's concrete — you photograph details at 5x with optical quality instead of digital.
For travel photography, sports photography, wildlife photography: it matters enormously.
Note: The iPhone 14 Pro Max does NOT have a better zoom than the 14 Pro — both have 3x.
Battery: the Pro Max lasts longer
The bigger body means more room for the battery. The iPhone 15 Pro Max gets ~2h more battery life than the 15 Pro in real-world use.
Weight: the Pro Max is noticeably heavier
| Model | Weight |
|---|---|
| iPhone 15 Pro | 187g |
| iPhone 15 Pro Max | 221g |
A 34g difference — you feel it in your pocket and in your hand after long use.
The key question: How do you use your phone?
Go for the Pro Max if:
- You like watching videos/series on your phone
- You take a lot of photos (especially the 15 Pro Max for the 5x zoom)
- You have big hands
- Battery life is your priority
Go for the Pro if:
- You're often on your feet, on the move, with one hand busy
- You keep your phone in your pocket
- You want the iPhone Pro experience without the bulky size
